Caddis are critical indicator of a rivers health, so what better name to bequeath to this new to Big Y pattern. Much like our Caddis Emerger, this fly is tied on a curved hook with a peacock thorax, slight wings coming out the top and a soft hackle wrap in the front. However, the coloration and tying of this fly a quite a bit different. How different? Well ask the fish. The wings and hackling is grizzly and tied on pretty sparsely. The body is brown and thinly wrapped. This pattern fishes well in lower and clearer water, especially is its smaller sizes. The opposite is also true in its bigger sizes as long as you can get it near enough to the fish for them to notice its silhouette.
