Black Quill Nymph

Description

Although it is not a super hatch, these larger mayfly nymphs are often gorged upon by trout. Tend to reside in slower water, but can often appear in fast riffles as well. They school much like minnows, so when the fish are keying on these, this pattern is likely to work extremely well. One of the unsung mayflies, but still quite effective.
