Description
A legendary pattern on the Deschutes River, and most rivers with stonefly hatches. Calf tail is used in the wings and tail, which helps trap air bubbles keeping this fly afloat. Fly can be fished as is, some people like to trim the hackle along the bottom of the fly, to allow it to lay flat on the surface of the water. Both trim and untrimmed have been proven to be extremely effective. This fly has out fished a stimulator on several occasions and is a must for anyone hitting up a salmon or stonefly hatch.
